Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy belt out the blues under the canopy of a badam tree with suspended globes, two terraced courtyards and beautifully lit landscaped gardens to define the mood for your evening. The place - the Stone House at Candolim. It is so called because it is made of local stone laterite. Proprietor Christopher D'Souza's collection of Blues — more than 500 CDs - competes with the tasty delicacies. Eric Clapton croons Come on in my kitchen. On the aperitif's side there is Guacomale with Papadoms and Tzaziki with Papadoms. Or the Grilled Mushrooms wrapped in bacon on a skewer, served with jacket potatoes, accompanied by a hot poie with butter garlic and parsley. As you feast on this fare, you don't need Bob Marley's Positive vibration to tell you that this is one place that would put you in a mellow mood. The cool dude items are the Tiger Prawns in Lemon Basil Sauce, the Whisky Steak…After that I am sure Bob Marley's Get up stand up would gel just right: the Chicken and Pineapple Kebabs glazed with a honey sauce are worth a mention. If Eric Clapton's Sea of joy is being rendered, the seafood here brings joy to the taste buds of the diners. Ensconced in comfortable cane chairs, one will hear the discreet bustle and movement of patrons swapping titbits. The music soaks into your very fibre and time flies. Before you know it, the lyrics of Buddy Guy's Midnight train will tell you that the witching hour is at hand. If you are "stoned" out of your mind at the Stone House, blame it on the music, ambience and food. It is a perfect way to blow away your blues.

Restaurant gets very busy late evening and service slackens, getting there earlier 7.30-8ish and get a table towards the rear, away from the traffic noise and by the fish ponds solves this problem, very good sea food and curries at a reasonable price but about time some new menus were introduced

The Stone House has comfortable seating arrangements with striking interiors and soothing ambiance. I love visiting the place on regular basis. Every alternate weekend, I visit the place to have some good time with friends. the ambiance is really calm and friendly. They serve delicious food too. they have delectable and yummy Grilled Mushrooms wrapped in bacon on a skewer, Tiger Prawns in Lemon Basil Sauce and the Chicken and Pineapple Kebabs. Rest of the things might be happened to be good but I like these things a lot. service is instant and friendly too. On the whole, it is a great place to be at.
