If you fancy modern Burmese cuisine with an international touch, head to Bomra's, which is actually the name of the owner-chef. While the food is undoubtedly Burmese, the chef here, with a few deft touches, transforms the dishes into modern creations which appeal to the well-travelled palate. So you may find the Burmese Rice and Noodle Salad or Thamin Let Toke in Burmese, a bit strange with its vermicelli-style noodles and assorted veggies mixed with rice. Pair it with a serving of Bomra's Spicy King Prawns Curry, which is a blend of coconut milk, spices and juicy prawns, and you are transported straight to heaven, via the giant mango tree which shades the courtyard-like restaurant and bar. We recommend the Crispy Pork and the Steamed Snapper Fish done with jaggery for the slightly sweet taste. The portions too are decent, but could be bigger! Their bar menu is pretty interesting and includes choices like a Fenny Daiquiri, a sweet-n-sour Caipirinha, the Brazilian cocktail made from muddled lime, sugar, cachaca and crushed ice.

The seasonal restaurant Borma’s is one place I always come to when its season is on. The Burmese food of this restaurant is amazing and authentic and their must have dishes are Noodle Salad, Spicy King Prawns Curry and Steamed Snapper Fish. In fact, their food is not only their specialty but an array of cocktails from different part of the globe is another high light of the menu. Borma’s is one place where all my family members come together at least ones in a year.

Burmese cuisine is not too common in the city and Bomra’s is a big name in this sense. The ambience of this restaurant in Oriental with many artifacts used to decorate the place. In food, Noodle Salad, Spicy King Prawns Curry, Steamed Snapper Fish are must have dishes in this restaurant. Also the small bar seems to be an attraction for many including me. Bomra’s is a restaurant for trying food made in a different and lovable way.
