It’s a spanking new coffee shop, a level higher than the pool; thus offering a lovely view from the balcony — warm, open, welcoming. The chefs have ignited a concept - serve a buffet but the hot food from a la carte portions. Is it possible? That food is kept warm in porcelain plates which hold just a few portions and then it is fresh from the kitchen. With a choice of over 12 salads…Creamy Potato and Scallion Salad, Cajun Spiced Chicken to name a few…..the soups are innovative and refreshingly different. Take the Lemon Coriander Chicken Soup or the Mushroom Soup with basil. The chef’s repertoire of food is showcased everyday of the week. The mains do not disappoint…Goan, Oriental, and Indian….some preparations so uncommon that it is a delight to feast here. Potato Cafreal... thick wedges of potato chips tossed with cafreal masala and fried - besides the hands reaching out, the mouths will be working overtime too. Over twelve combinations and counting…with a live pasta station too. Their Indian desserts are special…Apricot Peda, Nilkamal, Blueberry Venoise Cake, Pistachio Cake with orange jelly…to name a few. All eyes are on this deck…before the feast begins. If however, a la carte catches your fancy….start with the Pressed tomato Salad before you try the Brie Stuffed Chicken Breast or the Sulagate Tandoori Jhinga. Still chewing? Try the Nalli ka Roganjosh. Finish off with the Khubani ka Meetha…forget the hands on deck…the feet too will rhythmically shake especially if Maria of the Mumbai Library Bar fame is belting out her favourite numbers. Different, creative and limb jerking too - all hands on the upper deck could become the new mantra today.

Upperdeck confuses me big time with huge variety of dishes. The salads menu has 12 types of salads that actually is a great idea but not for me as I always prefer my food to be simple and easy to choose.
However, i like the live pasta station and the Indian desserts section that has Apricot Peda, Nilkamal, orange jelly and few other interesting things.
Upperdeck is good in its own right and one can definitely visit once.
