It is a coffee shop with a difference. Throughout the year there are festivals galore. Situated at Dona Paula, it has still retained its ability of getting the diners to savour the flavour of different cuisines researched by their chefs. Take the case of the Malabar food festival. Right from the Suprabhatam…well that is the word for Good Morning, to the tilak on the forehead and the welcome drink Pana Kam…a ginger and jaggery drink with coconut water. And so too would be the drill for the chaat festival, the Mango Festival, the Mediterranean Festival to name a few. But besides this the buzzing eatery has a few more 'hot' cosmopolitan favourites to offer. Sip on a refreshing beverage and order a thin-crust wood fired pizza. Drop in for coffee with friends and gaze out at the blue waters of the river. The restaurant with its pleasant shades of blue does something to beat the grilling heat out there. Or perhaps nibble on the Smoked Chicken, Mozzarella and Lettuce in multigrain load sandwich. Try a salad as a quick lunch? The Chicken Caesar Salad is the chef's special. But the global touch lingers on in the menu too. There is a choice of pasta as well - Ortolano al Marscarpone or Carbonara; choose the sauce of your choice with your favourite pasta too. And if a risotto catches your fancy, then the Mushroom Risotto with almond flakes and a drizzle of truffle oil is just the meal. Drizzle or no drizzle, this coffee shop is open throughout the year. And when all the speciality restaurants have downed their shutters and the taste buds crave for some oriental flavours the Burmese Khao Suey here reigns supreme. East or west, north or south there are no boundaries drawn for these chefs. So, remember when it comes to flavours, Cafe Azul holds the key.
