Alfama, inspired by the Bohemian town square of Lisbon in Portugal is described as the chef's speciality restaurant and is easily one of the best restaurants in Goa. Their interiors are well-crafted in subdued tones and style of food presentation dramatic and impressive. This gourmet destination offers a choice of set menu or a la carte dining. Items on the set menu are Goan-Portuguese with some fusion touches. There's Lobster Balchao or lobster in a tangy and spicy Goan sauce followed by Prawn Curry and Creab Xec Xec, a dry dish with Goan-style garammasala. Balchao Mushroom is for vegetarians and comes with unique flavours. Then there's Prawn Bisque and South-Indian style Rasam of Chicken. They also serve the Caldo Verde, a Portuguese-style vegetarian soup with spinach and Crab with Avocado Sauce. Their succulent Lobster Medallions are not to be missed when here. Live Fado or sad love songs in Portuguese entertain diners on some days. Open throughout the year.
This is probably the best restaurant in Goa, the place got the portugal influence and the decor is very much inspired by the true Goan culture. The food is scrumptious and delicious.
ATMOSPHERE comfortable and pleasant. SERVICE So eager to please that you may be ignored while they're pleasing others. Desserts are a high point. Extraordinary wine list.
