On a shed where the fishing nets were put out to dry, Jose and Ethelvina started a modest place called Joet's in 1979. Today their children along with their wives carry on this legacy by making Goan seafood the pride of this coast. The eatery has a spic-and-span blue ambience overlooking the deep blue sea and the crisp white sands. These are the very same sands on which Jose would have pulled up his trawler, with a fresh catch for the day. A sure recommendation is the Stuffed Crab (on order basis only). The crab shells are filled with crab meat, crunchy onions and Reichado sauce. grated cheese on top. And the Masala Fried Prawns - right down to the crunchy heads in the shells the masala seeps into the preparation. This shack with its designer crockery and cutlery definitely speaks of a woman's touch. The food too is attractively laid out with garnishes of carrots and tomatoes cut into florets. This family really knows its fish. Take the Prawn Curry Rice: the extract of the coconut in the curry does wonders to the consistency. Creamy? One does not normally associate that word with Goan food, but the curry coats every grain of the rice when mixed together. And then the Tandoori Red Snapper - the whole fish presented on a plate and the red masala crust masking it. They sure know how to retain the juicy flavour of the fish. Well, the sands of time might refer to the Prince of Persia, but these sands of time with trawlers parked and seafood galore can make you feel like a Prince too, nay perhaps a King.

Joet's is a classic example for how to follow the path in your parents footsteps. The place was set up in late 70's and the next generation has carried it forward very well keeping in mind the taste the preferences that changes with time. The local cuisines are worth a try.

Going in to the place, I tried their Masala Fried Prawns and Prawn Curry rice and those were just amazing. My friends also liked these items a lot. What i felt was they have hired the expert chefs for their menu.
