Perched on the first-floor of the Panaji Residency, Goan Ruchira is worth a visit for the scenic views of the Panaji riviera (riverfront) located just behind the Old Secretariat. The menu is multi-cuisine with Indian, Goan and Chinese food available, the prices are reasonable and the portions quite big. Get yourself a table in the outdoors section on the terrace verandah, and watch the world, the various casinos, speed boats, barges, cruise boats in River Mandovi go by as the stewards take your orders and the kitchen prepares your meal. There is also an airconditioned section inside for more formal occasions. The food quality is average, though. However, there is something for everyone here, right from Mutton Biryani to Goan Chicken Cafreal, various varieties of Chinese Fried Rice, assorted gravy-based items and an exhaustive vegetarian selection, including the unique Goan-style Cashewnut Bhaji.

Goa Ruchira is a place I like visiting just because of the awesome view of Panaji river front. The food is not all that great or outstanding but the quantity is generous and quality consistency is worth mentioning. Indian, Chinese and of course Goan dishes are served here and Goan Chicken Cafreal is my favorite. For vegetarians Cashewnut Bhaji is really finger licking. Overall, with the view of the lovely Panaji Goa Ruchira is a delightful place special late at night.
