If one has seen the 1945 fictionalised biography, a film based on American composer and musician George Gershwin called Rhapsody in Blue; it features performances of his music by two accomplished African-American musicians, Anne Brown and Hazel Scott. Now why does this come to mind? Because here in Goa, in a small modest eatery is a dual performance by cousins Conrad and Rovino, to create the Coros brand. Well the dual Rhapsody continues in their menu too - European and Goan cuisine. Chef Conrad Rodrigues has had the fortune to train with Chef Marco Pierre, the very same Chef who had tutored world renowned Chef Gordan Ramsay in his early years. When Conrad was asked what the USP of his preparations are? 'Sauces' was his simple reply. And 'the red and white prawns' his most popular preparation. Most of the preparations are starkly mentioned - Ravioli, Steaks, Pasta - but the secret is in the sauce. Ravioli is stuffed with seafood and served in a rich creamy white wine mushroom sauce with a subtle hint of chilli flakes. A definite pepped up Cordon Bleu preparation. The traditional Ceasars Salad, the prawns with Bearnaise sauce, steaks with Jus Madeira and oyster herb sauce...the meat soft and succulent orchestrated to ask for an encore. But Rovino proudly ensures that this dramatisation is economically handled. Unbelievable pricing! But they have also retained a small Goan corner in their incredible score. Their Coros Chicken Sukhem as a starter is a fine example of a spiced up tit bit with an aperitif in their cosy lounge area on the first floor. And the duo takes a well deserved break on Tuesdays. Six days a week for a Rhapsody of Duets. Head for Coros, smooth as velvet.

The food of Coros Velvet tastes prominently different and till date I have not been able to figure out what sauce they use to get that taste. Try anything here from Pasta to Ravioli to Chicken Sukhem order anything and you will forget the taste of anything that you ever had before. Enjoy such finger licking food in a lovely ambience only at the Coros Velvet restaurant.

Coros Velvet has a secret which is their sauces. It is that ingredient that makes all the dishes unique, mouth watering and simply epic. Just start with Coros Chicken Sukhem and it gives you the exact idea what to expect from this restaurant.
Ravioli, Pasta, Steaks, Ceasars Salad, the prawns with Bearnaise sauce are other delicacies of this restaurant. Surprisingly, the menu of Coros Velvet does not leave a hole in your pocket.
