This family-run restaurant in a bylane close to the GPO in Panaji is well-known for their Goa-Portuguese cuisine and seafood specialities. It's housed on the first floor of a quaint old house and has an entrance studded with sea shells. Breakfast is a simple affair with your choice of eggs, fried or scrambled. The steaks here are quite flat and big, although they come with a choice of sauces, with potato chips or mashed potatoes on the side, unlike the thick American-style Steaks you get elsewhere. The Chicken Cafreal and Stuffed Crab are popular with the visitors. A speciality item here is the Goan Pork Chops, either grilled or done in the local asad masala. They serve an unusual beef or Chicken with Sausage Chilly Fry, the perennial Goan favourite. The fare is strictly average in this slightly over-rated restaurant frequented by foreign tourists who stay in the cheap lodges in the St. Tome-Fontainhas heritage locality.

Venite Bar & Restaurant is quite a good place. The food is good, but décor is just fine. Went there for brunch. It was pretty nice. I had scrambled eggs and bread. I also had Chicken Cafreal and Stuffed Crab. The food was really delicious and yummy. The service was little slow/. Waiters were delaying in providing menu then in offering the water and finally food. Even bill was too late. Want to visit Venite Bar & Restaurant again to try some bar menu and starters.
