Avanti is one of those places in Panaji that still exudes an old-world feel. Located in the Latin quarter of Panaji, behind the church, this restaurant serves all the Goan specialities. On offer here are Prawn Balchao, Feijoada, Pork Vindaloo, Chicken Cafreal, Bombay Duck, Squid Masala and Shark Ambotik. Avanti also serves Beef Tongue Roast, Pork Sorpotel, Pork Chilly Fry, five types of fish curries and 18 varieties of fried seafood. You can savour the Mutton Xacutti, and choose from the six types of egg preparations and some vegetarian dishes. Do not expect too many frills here.

Serving all Goan delicacies Avanti Bar & Restaurant holds a nice old world charm and pride. While walking around Panaji I and my friends just entered this restaurant with much thought. However, all of us love the ambience and food; both are different and unique on its own. Shark Ambotik and Pork Vindaloo are my pick for the best of this restaurant. Avanti Bar & Restaurant has nice collection of liquor also. In totality this was a pleasant outing for me and my friends.
