This value-for-money cafe is one of the oldest in Panaji. It is always packed, therefore, you may have to wait a while for a seat. There's a good selection of North and South Indian snacks, all of good quality. They serve South Indian favourites like Masala Dosa which comes with Aloo-Bhaji inside. They offer a modified version of Goan Patal Bhaji, made with beans instead of chickpeas in garam masala gravy. Other favourites you can savour are Aloo Vada, Chilly Pakoda, Onion Pakoda, Sukhi Bhaji, the potato bhaji served with piping hot puris, Mushroom Bhaji, Alsana Bhaji, and the unique Goan Tomato Bhaji in a garam masala gravy. The snacks can be had with coffee and tea.

One of the class apart and old café in Panaji area is Café Real. I like coming here because they have Indian snacks which are not too common in the city. The allo bhaji stuffed Masala Dosa is another lovely and unique piece of culinary work of this place. The pakora variety is to relish and die for. Goan Tomato Bhaji is a must try of this café. Small, serene and worth sitting is Café Real for me; its absolutely real and nothing superficial.
