Now they say one woman letting go of her vocal chords is good, two women together could be problematic, and when three women pipe out together??? Well there was a carnival style atmosphere in this restaurant. And the three Filipino singers in tandem had the diners tapping their feet in tune to the 'retro' songs of yesteryears. Right in the heart of Panaji there is a family place but with a difference, because the food comes from different kitchens. For starters try the Char Sieu, the BBQ Spare Ribs with a hint of soya and cinnamon. Charming combo! And the name of the trio is 'Kitty Charms'. This is the singers, not the soya-cinnamon combo of the Char Sieu. But chef has got his kitchen combo just right. Another hot favorite is the Gansu kai, a Mongolian chicken preparation with roasted red chili, honey and bell peppers. But one has a choice because in keeping with the theme one can order any cuisine offered by the Fidalgo food court. The name, 'carnival of cuisines' is definitely justified. The lead singer changed the tempo and so had the food - the Dum Biryani and the Peshawari Murgh. The mutton was soft and tender and the spice had coated the rice to perfection. The chicken soft and succulent with the curry encasing it like a glove. But the sweetness of the finale is what will leave a lingering taste in your mouths. Death by chocolate! A dip into the cake and molten lava of hot chocolate meets the cold ice cream, you would be dying for more and aptly named in more ways than one. Hot or cold, Chilli n Spice is one sure carnival of cuisine and entertainment for the families.
