The Beach Shack has replaced the earlier Sussegado shack, but the essence still remains the same, sussegado being a Goan term which means a relaxed mind and body. And what better way to chill out than to laze around on the white sands of Varca, at the Ramada Caravela Beach Resort. The setting is quite elegant in the seasonal shack-like restaurant and the food quite spectacular. There's a live Seafood display where you can select your lobsters, snappers, or crabs, Tiger prawns etc, and then you can watch them being cooked. The crabs are still alive when you select them, though their claws are bound together - the best crabs are always on a new moon day and they have less meat on full moon days. Ask them to grill your Seafood and chill out with the sea view. They have a multi-cuisine menu now, with international and Oriental favourites like pastas, salads, steaks, stir fries, noodles, etc.

Beach Shack has an amazingly done décor. I got fascinated with its interiors and went there with some of my friends. We opted for lobsters, snappers, and crabs. The food was average. We also had pastas, salads and steaks, which were again average for me. Beach Shack is cool place but food is average.
