Lingerie salesman meets well-rounded girl - both 40 plus. And Parsi.
So what's your size, huh? 38D? 36B? 30A!!?? Your style? Push-ups, satin, lace? Umnnn, if you need any advice on this, meet Farhad Pastakia (Boman Irani), salesman at Tem Tem Bra and Panty store, who knows his bras and boobs like he knows his dhanshak. So when a '36B' Shirin Fuggawala (Farah Khan) ambles into his store, his heart uplifts like a 'wonderbra' for the first time; and he knows he's finally found his 'size'. Or like mommie (Daisy Irani) says, " Farhad ka murga jaaga! " While he's a pro at 'sizing' up women, Farhad is clueless about the As and Bs of romance. To add to his woes, he's harrowed by his dominating mother, to find him a girl (from a diminishing population of dikris). Shirin (secretary of the Parsi Trust) is as comfy about this 40-plus romance as she's about her love handles, breaks into a Bolly-jig, wears fluorescent bras (for his bulging eyes only), teaches him about squeezes (read: hugs) and invites him over for 'coffee after-date'. But hold on, like any other love-story, there's a booby-trap in this bra-cup of a love-affair too.
With all the Cyruses, Ferozes, Perizaads, salli botis, dikras, dikris - this one is full of stereotypical bawa-isms, hilarious in parts; sweet as lagan-nu-custard in some, and mostly endearing. The story doesn't ride through too many highs, lows, conflicts or drama, and is as straightforward as Farhad's matrimonial column.
Boman Irani's performance is utterly believable. Size does matter. Of the heart that is. And in this quaint love story he's all heart, honest and adorable.
Farah Khan's debut is a sheer surprise; she 'slips' into this role beautifully. So what if she's not size-zero, with an absolutely natural performance she makes a pretty figure. Daisy Irani and Shammi aunty (Farhad's grandmom), team up to add feline family drama to Farhad's boring life.
Bela, in her debut, delivers a breezy romance, with nothing complicated; everything too-good-to-be-true. The Bollywood touches are entertaining, but the songs (and some scenes) slacken the pace.
This is no epic love tale, but it's worth a watch for those who like their cinema as buttered as their bun maska.

Farhah khan must never attempt acting again. Boman irani tried to save the movie at points, but there wasnt much content as such- and the indian audience is not prepared to watch love stories of old people, leave aside bad love stories of old people :)

This is an old fashioned love story, but the way it is presented is really good! It shows how devotion to parents proves to be a blessing.... Always... Loved the way Boman Irani said "Mumma" through the movie. Shirin aka Farah Khan for a change acted very well, if not fantastically well. The music was fabulous and also the direction.

This is one refreshing movie. A feel good soft touch romantic comedy to entertain. Constant doses of humor which could be appreciated. Boman Irani does not disappoints at all and Farah Khan had to just act natural. It takes heart to make a middle aged love story and this one has acceptability. All the normal and regular ingredients of a love story are present in the movie and the happy ending as well. A well grounded narrative and sensible treatment.

It's a good comedy movie with fine performances by the lead actors. While Boman Irani was expected to rock, Farah Khan came across as a pleasant surprise. We need more movies like this.

A sweet and simple love story of two 40 people. The movie will give you a feeling that Love is ageless. Nice to see some old ladies like Shammiji and Daisy Irani in action once again as farsi mom and daughter. Good performance by Boman Irani. But could have been better if there was somebody else instead of Farah Khan, she did ok, but should stick to be a choreographer/director in her near future. Overall a good romantic comedy by Bela Bhansali for the whole family. :-)
