What sets apart The Square at Novotel Shamshabad from the one at Madhapur is space. The former is far more spacious and boasts of a larger buffet spread. It has the typical modern ambience of an all-day dining restaurant, steel and glass, with a couple of paintings to break the décor, and in common with its Madhapur cousin, its well-frequented by the expat community. Service is genteel, in an unhurried and unobtrusive fashion. Apart from the huge variety of salads, main courses and desserts, there are at least three to four live stations, alternating between Continental, (Italian pastas and pizzas), Oriental (noodle bar, dimsums, yakitori, sushi, teppanyaki, Mongolian grills, Burmese Khowsuey etc), Indian (tandoors, kebabs, kheema pavs and the like), Paninis and buns stations etc, Mexican (fajitas, enchiladas and live churro stations). Some days, they also do fresh steaks and stews, with a host of sauces and dressings options. Expect the unexpected here, such as Sugarcane Chicken, no it isn't sweet, just chicken mince skewered on sugarcane sticks or the corn and coriander muffins. Or even the Bunny Chow, a South African bread delicacy stuffed with various meats and spices. In the desserts section, you will find nuggets like Ajwain and Champagne Sorbet, Smoked goat cheese ice cream, Green Tea Cheese Cake and Fennel (saunf) Root Ice Cream. And if its your lucky day, do tuck into the Winey Apples in Pistachio Sable, you will reach salvation!
