A year into its launch, Urban Asia has stayed true to its promise of delivering fairly decent pan-Asian chow, in an informal ambience, complete with a guitar-strumming musician and window seating overlooking Jubilee Hills. Try the Yin-Yan soup (two soups, served with impeccable consistency in the same bowl), in either of the three versions of vegetable, shrimp and chicken), it's like they say, different! Vegetarians who like their starters fried may want to try Vegetable Tulips and Tempura, and we have to say the Corn Cubes, even though of a fiery red hue, is addictive. There is a healthier starter menu consisting of sui mai and steamed dimsums, stir fried Chinese greens etc. For non-vegetarian starters, try the Tai Pei Chicken, Chicken Satay, Shrimp Dimsums and Crispy Konjee Lamb. Standing Pomfret in a choice of sauce (chilli garlic, oyster sauce), although listed under starters, does well as a main course complement. Lotus Leaf Wrapped Fried Rice, Bamboo Rice with a hint of five spice, Pan Fried Noodles, Chilli Garlic Shrimp Noodles make for good choices of chow. Team them with Sliced Chicken or Fish in the sauce of your choice, (black bean is good). Mix Oriental Greens in Parsley Sauce, Shitake and Pakchoy in Cantonese sauce are good vegetarian main courses. Ask for the Chinese tea, it's on the house.
