You will love the sunny ambience of this European-style cafe. Spread over three levels of greenery and natural rocks, Truffles has a patisserie at the first level, an open air pizzeria and grill, on the second level, which also has seating options outside as well as inside an AC restaurant, with a bar (yet to be operational at the time of going to press), while on the third level is an al fresco seating option. The indoor restaurant has bright yellow walls, on which are retro posters of films like Gone with the Wind and comic strip characters like Beetle Bailey, also strewn around is antique memorabilia, like a gramophone player. The menu is mostly Continental, (Italian pastas and pizzas have a good presence), with a smattering of Mediterranean and Anglo Indian. Their Mulligatawny soup (veg version) is certainly not among the best, with no hint of lime or even the option of lime wedges offered as garnish. The Devilled Eggs are okay, and so is the Chargrilled Fish, served with dips and salad, but with no bread! The Railway Lamb Curry With Khichri (an Anglo Indian in-house special) does better. The piece de resistance, is however, the tiramisu, which is perfect, with the bitter coffee and rum adding texture and flavour to the sweetened mascarpone cheese. A note of caution: Serving sizes are not too large, especially considering the slightly steep pricing. Also, service has a long way to go.
