If you go by the popularity stakes, RR has it all, three successful outlets in Jubilee Hills, Ameerpet, besides the Lakdi-ka-Pul one. But be warned, if you own a delicate digestive system, unused to the spicy and fiery-hot cuisine of the Rayalaseema region of AP. The thalis (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) are representative enough of RR's repertoire, especially as they come with a huge serving of Ragi Sankati, (that gooey dumpling made of rice and millets, with a neutral taste), had with a dollop of ghee, which helps flush down the hot and spicy gravies of the accompanying curries. Gongura Mamsam (mutton) remains a favourite, and so does Natu Kodi Pulusu (country chicken curry), Chapala (fish) Pulusu and Peethala (crab) Pulusu. However, an Andhra staple, Bommidayala Pulusu (river fish curry) wasn't available at both outlets, even while being listed on the menu! Try the Jonna (jowar) Rotis, they add good fibre to your system, while being crunchy and tasty too. There are also the usual Andhra pulaos, Natu Kodi, (country chicken), mutton, prawns and fish. Vegetarians have limited choices, but do try the Ulava Charu with plain steamed rice, its an experience! Also, the Gatti Venkaya Kura (stuffed brinjals curry), Palak Pappu, are good choices. The ambience, differs from outlet to outlet, although all are bound by one thing, a degree of busyness, but we found the Jubilee Hills the most contemporary and pleasant.

Judging by the name, I was expecting a typical south Indian ambiance with steaming idly’s and dosa’s being carried around by waiters dressed in whites. To my surprise, I was welcomed into a beautiful restaurant with a splendid view and decor. The waiters were well trained; they approached as soon as I sat with water and promptly took the order. The food was great, the flavouring was perfect and the service was quick and efficient. Their preparations score high on the spice scale so don’t forget to order something to drink along with your main course.

This is my 4th visit to Rayalaseema Ruchulu Jubilee Hills within a span of 6 months. The Jubilee Hills outlet is my favourite due to its convenient location. Ordered their speciality starter Kodi Vepudu... It was too hot and spicy but nevertheless it was good. I didnt expect it to be so hot. Then I ordered Chapala Vepudu which was non spicy dish and the fish tasted very good. Had two bowls full of Khubaani ka Meetha with ice cream. Overall a great experience

I was looking for a different kind of south Indian restaurant. I had enough of the idly dosa’s and it was time to explore the cuisine. A friend recommended Rayalaseema Ruchulu for the variety it displays in its menu, and true he was. I had never even heard of most of the dishes but the waiters were patient and enthusiastic enough to explain the preparations and recommend the specialties. So I tried the Andhra style Pulao which I felt was better than most of the biryani varieties available in the city, along with Naatu Kodi Iguru which blew my mind away. Awesome food and brilliant service. The ambience in the case of jubilee hills was amazing and it fit the bill and the overall experience was of top quality.
