The great divide between Hyderabad (along with Cyberabad), and Secunderabad couldn't be more visible than in restaurants like Utsav, which have fallen by the wayside, after having been an extremely popular dining destination for people not just in Secunderabad, but its twin city counterpart(s) too. The crowds might still be there occasionally, but its more for the value-for-money buffet deals than a discerning taste for food. And if you go looking for even the remotest ambience, you are likely to be hugely disappointed. The upholstery is faded and torn, and the buffet table cloth covers are soiled. A pity that, because this erstwhile ballroom of the Secunderabad Club in the days of yore, still has a magnificent high ceiling, tall pillars and a regal feel. The menu is mostly Indian (read North Indian), with some Chinese names (Lemon and Coriander soup and Paneer Thread are decent) and a couple of Continental dishes. To be fair to them, their North Indian fare is still pretty decent, like Jeera Aloo (from the lunch buffet menu), Dal Maska, Hara Bhara Kebab, Chatpata Dhaba Paneer. A couple of pasta dishes also pass muster. Desserts are forgettable and so is the entire dining experience.

Went Utsav with a friend to have some reasonably priced food. they serve delicious and yummy lemon and coriander soup and paneer thread. Also, we had Dal Maska, Hara Bhara Kebab and Chatpata Dhaba Paneer which all are delectable to have. Service was average and ambiance can be scored same. There was nothing special about the service and ambiance of the place. Overall, we had nice food with some delay at a dull place.
