Benjarong, on the top floor of South City Mall, is the only stand-alone restaurant in the city that offers authentic and stylish Thai cuisine. Plush interiors and polite hospitality welcome you. For starters, order the Goon Tood Samunpai (tamarind prawn) or Pu Nim Tod (soft shell crabs) and the Tom Yum seafood soup or Tom Yum Talay, which packs plenty of punch. Vegetarians can tuck into the sweet and tangy Phad Thai with vegetables and Kaeng Ped Doklampuri (Thai red curry with cauliflower and bamboo shoot). Their signature Gai Hor Baitaey (marinated chicken pieces, wrapped in pandana leaves and deep-fried) is a hot seller. To satisfy your sweet tooth, you could try the water chestnut in chilled, sweet coconut milk or the Sankhaya Fakthong (coconut and pumpkin pudding). Authentic recipes, mystery ingredients, piquant sauces and good service make a meal here memorable.rn
