This is a new experience in the city. With regional cuisine on the high, Straits has straight away hit the right target. The wooden décor is minimalist with Oriental motifs. Their menu is simple and specific, the food delicious and authentic. Go for their Non-veg Set Meal comprising Sothi, coconut milk-based fish soup or Chicken Wings made with Malay-style Barbecue Sauce. Or, choose between mutton cooked with fresh spices, roasted coconut and herbs or rice cooked with coconut milk with prawn sambal, boiled egg, fish and cucumber. For vegetarians, there is Vegetable Tom Yam Soup or Gado Gado Salad, with main course of Cantonese Fried Rice or Eggplant Sambal with Steamed Rice. For dessert, choose from the Coconut Candy stuffed with Sesame, Peanuts and Palm Sugar or Sago with Plum Sugar, Ice Cream and Coconut Milk.

I love coming to Straits, a restaurant specialized in Thai, Singorean and Malaysian cuisine. When first time I came the interior did not impressed me as it is nothing what one expects from an oriental restaurant. But the food is definitely way beyond expectations. Their Chicken Wings, Thai Red Curry is perfect in taste and when I am too hungry it’s nothing else but Set Meal that works on me here. The food of Straits is luscious and makes sure that one visits this restaurant again.
