Looks can be deceptive”, “Don't judge a book by its cover” and similar sayings will come to your mind after you've had a meal at Kim Fa. Small, nondescript, family-run restaurant, spread in two levels. But the food... it is outstanding, authentic Chinese, inspired by the Hakka style of cooking. Kim Fa in Tangra, China Town, is the favourite of the local Chinese people. Nothing can beat the soft, spongy Boneless Chilli Chicken or the Chilli King Prawns, which are the best available in Tangra. Also above average is the Special Home-made Noodles Tossed in Soya and Jaggery. But - and it's a big but - be warned that they run out of food very fast. It's that popular. What you can do is: pre-order a six- or eight-course typical Chinese meal, and additionally, have a local accompanying you. Kim Fa also has a private room for family gatherings, so you can hold a family party here

Simple joint. Lazy look and good food. The prawn was superb but the noodle was not upto the mark

My experience about dining at KIM Fa restaurant is very good. I just love the food at KIM Fa. I'm visiting there since almost last 25 yrs and I can assure they serve one of the best chinese foods in Kolkata. My favourite dishes are Chicken Hot and Sour Soup, Dry Chilli Chicken, Jumbo Prawn Fry and Chicken with Mushroom and Capsicum veg.
