He's not blond, but desi Bond meets Bourne for a spy masala mix - apna Agent Vinod. With all the makings of a suave 007, always shaken, never stirred. With guns, gadgets, girls and guts. Throw in style and sex-appeal, and we almost have it all. AV, in his slim-fit suits, bow-ties and tuxedoes, is your metrosexual man on a mission. Cut to the chase, the story explodes in Afghanistan and the smoke trail leads to places like Russia, Morocco, Pakistan, Turkey, Latvija; with our agent (Saif Ali Khan), high on his loaded ammunition of testosterone and wit - on the job. He's tracing a nuclear suitcase bomb (talk about retro), which could possibly trigger a Nuclear War. His only clue, a number - 242. And a siren; sexing up the mission. Read: ISI agent, Iram (Kareena Kapoor).
Saif, like 007, is never averse to spouting a clever line even while drugged by the baddies - 'My name is Anthony Gonsalves' the most creative among them. Stripping his shirt to show off a chiseled six-pack, but decently desi enough to keep the pants on, and sensitively shed a tear. At his stylish best, Saif is the spy-to-die-for.
And while a random bronzed bikini babe makes a mandatory appearance, she's not missed as Kareena is sexier by far; and effortlessly does the sometimes mysterious, sometimes vulnerable act.
Ram Kapoor rolls his 'R's (for a Russian accent) as smoothly as his character trades arms, drugs and flesh. Prem Chopra weeps heartily for a dying camel but shows a mean-streak with good ol' 70's villainy. Adil Hussain, cut 'n' d(r)ied, plays the devious Colonel. Gulshan Grover pops up, only for a mujra, it seems.
Director Sriram Raghavan, who's made fine mind-twisters (Ek Haseena Thi, Johnny Gaddaar), attempts a spy-thriller this time. His obsession for retro reflects here again, whether it's casting Prem Chopra and Gulshan Grover, references to classics, or infusing soundtracks from the bygone era. Aaah! Nostalgia! 'Agent Vinod' is slick and visually stylized, but loses steam at times. The movie is a tad long and often creatively compromised - for style over substance. With well-designed stunts and car chases, there are very few high points or shock value. One being the background score (Daniel B George) that changes beautifully with the locations.
Otherwise, Agent Vinod is cool. But not steamy enough to win a license to thrill.

Saif does a james bond as he dons the character of a RAW agent in this suspense and action movie. The suspense element is good and twists and turns are adequate to keep you interested in the plot. The scissors could have been sharper though and the movie could have easily been an 2 hour one. Good movie overall, but music leaves a lot to be desired.

This movie doesnt appeal to the audience much, it becomes too boring after the interval, half of the time the audience is just confused to figure out what the hell is going on in this movie. songs are good but the story line is too boring.

Don't understand why Kareena did this movie...ya ya she is in love with saif but it doesn't that you will compromise on your carrer... no role for Kareena as such...boring movie...very predictable...agent trying to find someone meets Kareena and takes her help while doing so falls in love with her...but sad enough kareena dies at the end...and movie ends with Saif dancing on Pungi

Good movie , a must watch spy thriller,sad to see disgusting reviews by so many people.If you cant understand a spy movie then that's basically because you don't have a head. There's deficiency in you and you say the problem is with the film.Go exercise your brain muscles first and then watch again, you will definitely find it more interesting.people like you will definitely term inception & matrix flops.

Not a great movie but certainly well made, an attempt to create an Indian Bond might not be very successful but is worthy of praise nonetheless. The story with its twists and turns is gripping and complicated but a tad too long and looses itself towards the end. There could also have been a little more "Bondbaazi" at the end of the movie.

agent vinod is a must watch movie for the youngstars....like i am a girl but,i loved the movie very mch...i was not a fan of saif and kareena but, after watching the movie, i am their huge fan....only movie-baffs can understand this types of movies... In clear awesome!!! :)

When Agent Vinod was a child , he once jumped on to a top of a cable car which was swinging due to a broken rope and held and tied the rope back to the cable---all the time swinging from the cable at a height of 2000 feet. Bingo !!! He decides that his job is to save other's lives all his life ; all the time doing death defying stunts regardless of the dangers involved . So he becomes Agent Vinod , the desi wannabe James Bond . But being a desi , he's only a one woman man---and the woman he falls in love with is the beautiful Kareena Kapoor , a Pakistani ISI agent . But where do the two meet ?? Its on a mission to prevent a nuclear blast in India---a nuclear blast which will trigger a nuclear war between the two neighbours . Typically , the head honcho of the conspiracy to trigger the bomb is an Indian and not a Pakistani---further evidence of the pakstanii-appeasing mindset that bollywood has acquired in recent times..... But to prevent the conspiracy from reaching fruition Agent Vinod and his lovely loveress have to move heaven and hell moving from country to country---from Morrocco to Latvia to India to Pakistan and other countries whose names I forgot..... ......And all the time the action moves at superbreakneck speed---the fights seem to occur at the velocity of light almost..... But all this does not make the movie a great one---in fact the director tries too hard to pack maximum action at maximum speed into the movie and ultimately does not really succeed..... One good thing about the movie is the sight of Kareena's mouthwateringly ample cleavage---a bosom that one gets to see inspite of her attempts to cover it with her hair..... Thats about the only thing that I really liked about the movie.... Verdict---at least I didn't like it.....

two big budget action thriller movie released this year one is players(Abhisek) & other is agent vinod(saif).Both movies are superflop.eventhogh these movies are superflop players seems better compared to superflop agent vinod from action & acting point of view.

superflop movies Players(remake of Italian job already seen by us) & Agent vinod(Tryng to be Indian bond but forget that we have already watched hollywood bond movies many times) is very good lesson for our producers/directors/actors that not to make remake or copy hollywood/bollywood classic movies with big budget(total waste of money of them & also ours).people are now fed up as people has already seen original movies.prime example is superhit movie kahaani(different story original one ) made of very low budget but its box office collection is huge.
