When in Rome do as the Romans? Not really. Sometimes it's best to let your hair down and do as the 'Americanos' do. Precisely what we see the King of New York, Alex (Ben Stiller), do as he returns with his buddies Marty, the smart-ass zebra (Chris Rock), Melman, the completely in love giraffe (David Schwimmer) and Gloria, the equally in love hippo (Jada Pinkett Smith), after having charmed us with their escapades in their earlier two adventures. Their third outing, this time in Europe, is equally charming, with eye-popping visuals, vibrant animation, rib-tickling teasers, nuclear reactors, never ending chases, and a joyous abandon that makes for perfect tween (teen and adults alike) fare. As for the plot, the foursome are seen doing what they do best - struggling to reach America, via Europe. Now, that's where the fun begins, sometimes at the Roman Colosseum, sometimes at the Vatican, sometimes at the casino, and sometimes at the always-on-the-move circus.
A special mention: Apart from the usual Madagascar brigade of the lion, zebra, giraffe, hippo, penguins, squirrels, lemurs, llama... this time the movie gives us two new characters who add to that hullabaloo on screen. First it's the Siberian Tiger, Vitaly (Byran Cranston) with his animal instinct (better known as passion in the human world) to do anything impossible. Second, it's the super cop, Captain Chantel Dubios (Frances McDormand) of the French Animal Control department who just can't get enough of Alex, literally. The two together make up for Nana's (Elisa Gabrielli) absence who kept us pretty entertained in the two prequels.
So do the once New-Yorkers- always-New-Yorkers finally get back to the Big Apple? Watch it....
For now, well played (specially in 3D) Team Madagascar! Game on!

No matter what others are saying about this movie .... i'll advice you to go and watch it ... we are addicted to non sense comedies by khan's and khilaadi but this is much better than those ...... marty as usual rocks with his terrific empty mind theories .... gloria more sexy than previous versions .... and my fav melman the best ....

Well.... i have watched the first part and missed the second part. This movie gave me the feel of complete 3D experience and has indeed made me to get back to laptop and revisit the initial two parts.... wonderful screenplay that keeps you engaged - interested for each minute of the movie... Well done.. team!
