If it's the special forces we are talking about, guns and grenades, state-of-the-art technology and out-of-the-box strategies is what we are primarily on the lookout for. Sadly, here our men in uniforms are seen falling, faltering and giving up as well. No wonder, the special force comprising six super officers on a mission to get kidnapped Elsa safely back to her land end up being killed. Not to say they never try at all. At least the first half sees our men in action. For the rest, over to the story....
Action and the struggle-to-survive (all seen before stuff) aside, there are moments in the movie that do deserve a special mention: the performances by every single cast that holds your attention till the very end; the state of the nation, the diplomatic statement and reactions, the panic in news agencies when a (war) correspondent is abducted; the camerawork that captures the tribal areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan in its extreme form beautifully; the not-so-happening practices being followed in some not-so-fortunate parts of the world -- women being sold to the Talibans; a Muslim woman throwing off her veil just to smile (her idea of who-gives-a-damn) before her public execution; children as young as seven forcibly taken away by the Taliban so that they can return to do the same.
Agreed this was never meant to be a Daniel Pearl and Johanne Sutton real life drama come alive on screen, but what really makes Special Forces a little different is the very opening line of the movie that gives us ample food for thought -- The only way to change the world is to change the story.

watchable... the movie dragged a bit at the second part..... and lost the pace..... but still one time watch .... imagine what nations(in this case france) do for even a single citizen of theirs... i know its a movie... though

If you like first person shooter games like Call Of Duty and Battlefield you gonna love this movie, its a FRENCH made movie but all in all great one, Its about freeing an abducted reporter,and the makers have done it flawlessly. hats off.

Nice Movie but the story is very old. There is another which is somewhat similar to this one call "Tears of the Sun". They have similar storyline. The actions are good and one time watchable movie.

A decent film with some intense action as well as emotional scenes. Pretty well executed in terms of casting, acting and cinematography. None of the actors seemed out place and carried on their role effortlessly. The only reason i gave it a 3/5 is because t didn't have anything unique to offer to the viewer. Anyway a super entertainer and should be watched at least once.

The movie portraits the world famous French Special forces. The original movie is in french. Diane Kruger, Djimon Hounsou and Beno?t Magimel were very apt for their respective roles.

It really doesn't matter how accurately this film portrays the French special forces. It's a film. It's an emotional film. It's a very emotional film. Get to the end without tears in your eyes and you're carved from stone. Well worth watching.

2 things are there in a normal Hollywood film and those are : Story lines and objective expression. In this film also one can find a new style of story line and clean presentation

Muslims They drink Camel urine (Bukhari : Book 7 :: Volume 71 :: Hadith 590).. and they preach to marry 5-6 yr olds (Prophet did so) and their heaven (jannat) gives them 72 Hooris (virgin woman) and 28 Gilmans (young gay boys).. Do you think after following such a religion you have any right to question anybody else????

Diane Kruger does an apt justice with the role but others to me were just average with their performances. I think this one will appeal only to certain kind of audience who love watching this kind of action stuff from guys in uniform. The locations add the 'wow' element in parts. Average stuff this, watch only if free and not much other options in sight for you.
