Emily Anderson (Kathryn McCormick), a girl who wants to make it big with her moves, meets Sean (Ryan Guzman), falls in love with him, and soon joins his dance troop. Perfect ending? Not really since MOB (the dance troop) has got to win a contest for a major sponsorship opportunity.
When it's the Step Up series you're talking about, you know what the deal is all about. It's not about putting on the dancing shoes, but putting on the tights. And once done, nothing can stop our bunch of street dancers from turning into Miami's most happening movers and shakers. They are ready to show their moves just about anywhere (in the middle of a bustling street; on the top of cars). They are ready to shake a leg or two to almost any music (in this case, it's the honking of cars). They are ready to do it just about anytime (what better way to kill time in a traffic jam than go the dancing way).
So if dance is what you're looking for, you are not going to be disappointed. But if it's the plot, here goes: Step Up (2006) was all about street dancer Channing Tatum getting the nuances of ballet right. Step Up 2:The Streets (2008) was all about yet another ballet dancer getting the moves right on street. As for Step Up 3D (2010), it was all about the war of street dancers. Talk of the 2012 version and it's dancing done for a cause. Of course, making up for all that lack of a great plot is the music, some great chemistry between the lead pairs -- Ryan Guzman and Kathryn McCormick, winner of the So You Think You Can Dance series -- and of course, the cutting-edge flash mobs.
So you think you can (handle all that) dance? Then go for it....

Love this movie because of the beautiful actress :). So now some serious review, this movie has great dance scenes which you will enjoy. You cant understand the silliness of main actors closest friend which spoils everything in-between . But still you can watch the movie atleast once.

Although the plot and characters are formulaic, Step Up: Revolution delivers well-choreographed dance sequences.

Well for dance lovers this one is truly a high dose of b-boying, locking and popping, contenporary and break dance. Ryan Guzman as Sean and Kathryn McCormick, winner of 'So You Think You Can Dance' season 6, as 'Emily' were both good as the lead pair. The story revolves around Ryan Guzman and his friend Misha Gabriel who plays Eddie in the movie, and their gang who indulge in flash mob activities and have formed their own group-THE MOB. The mixed DJ background score is the soul of the movie and leads it till the end. The artistic imagination involved, used in the art gallery and at the dock was commendable. Jennifer Lopez's song 'Tonight' was nice.

well movie is awesome unless you have spoiled your mood by listening and viewing reviews .well here is a short review who wants to read.Story starts from the few guys performing at the streets and they call themselves "THE MOB".Initially they just perform in streets and in hotels for but soon they heard the news that their homes and workplace is going to be uprooted for advancement of the society .A girl in the story is add up whose father company is doing all this work. She got own problem his father wants something else for her and she wants to dance .finally she is a part of THE MOB and she give them the idea for protest dance art. Then the mob started to protest in their dancing way and they hit the internet well .Soon her father relises her mistake and left the idea to make hotels in that area. The movie is just predictable by viewing the trailer itself. But the dances are good and entry of Moose in the end is just awesome. CON's-movie is just too short and lacks story.

Methinks the prior movies of the series were better. In this particular version they lacked that enthrall for dance which imbues within everyone with the former two sequels even with a repeated watch. The 3D effect was in place for the entire movie, but not a must watch in 3D. Go enjoy it for once, in 3D or not I leave it to one's own decision.

Now what do we say about a movie that leaves you completely speechless? Step Up doesnt let down the legacy set by the prequels. It is not only a delight for all dance lovers but even those who dont love dance will find themselves tapping their feet to the amazingly well-choreographed moves. Now, if we talk about the movie apart from the dance moves, it is still refreshing and enticing. The storyline and the Mob concept is great, goes well with the theme of revolution. The actors have done a pretty amazing job, the soundtrack is foot-thumping. Some bits of the movie might be slow for some who dont like salsa or waltz kinda dances but the choreographer had to show his versatility. The flash mob sequences will keep you frozen in awe and excitement. Do watch the camouflage mob and the corporate mob sequence, its simply splendid. The mob concepts and art is fantastic as well. Dialogues are okay, not pretty good but not bad too, some comic punches add a grin to your face throughout. The epic end has guest dancers, Moose from earlier series makes you go whoa, wow, yeah, sexxxxy, cool! A must watch entertainer for all!
