You have to fight your way through the traffic-choked lanes near the international airport to get to the dinner-only Imperial China, where average Chinese Schezwan fare (Roast Duck being the delicious exception) awaits. It's a confluence of Indian and Chinese cultures here with inscriptions in Hindi and Chinese and paintings of lotus and orchid flowers. Lever fans from the Raj days add a touch of charm to this relaxing place. Strictly passable fare overall, though management recommends their Peking Duck. Corn Bean Potatoes, Peppery Chicken, Prawn in XO Sauce, Malaysian Noodles and Wok-fried Lamb with Bamboo Shoot are amongst the better dishes. End with Crispy Date Pancake served with Rose Petal Ice Cream. The only dish truly worth savouring here would be the Aromatic Roast Duck for its exquisite combination of textures and flavours
