Are you ready for some bakwaas? Every inch of the walls scream with some colourful photo or message and invariably none of them make sense. Outside, this narrow three-floored building has “Nonsense” written all over it. Literally and otherwise too, neon signs announce it. But you can't say they didn't warn you. I am on an adventurous nightout with my reader Yajur Taxali. Big tacky cutouts, Bollywood star photos fuse into a haze of “am I seeing things?”. Hazy smoke, peacock feathers from ceilings, filmstars photos on the floor and then a narrow, winding staircase which connects us to the floor with the live music and dance floor. They serve paninins, sandwiches, pastas and pizzas. It's dim and dark and shady in here. My initial nervousness about the crowd and kind of nightlife here gives way to a sense of fun. We meet Ashok Pakkala, the owner who's as whacky as the three-floored bar he runs. He shows us the jhula floor (no chairs only jhulas). We decline his offer of a drink, because by now we are quite high on the sheer nonsense and sense of fun and make a quick getaway.
