Kishore DFs, WTFs continue to rock; the latest Malad opening bears testament. Their success lies in the non-conformist, grungy, young, sporty, non-pretentious and pocket-friendly attitude and demeanour. And this applies to both its branches at Khar and Versova. The local, everyday hangout at Khar has an outdoor seating section with charpais and cushions; relaxing soft music playing in the background. Interesting art walls and a bar placed on a handcart make this a fun place to hangout. Textured walls, unconventional bar stools greet you inside, and to the extreme right, a loud red seating area canvassed with witticisms, designs, pop culture and blaring music playing retro, hip-hop and popular hits. Versova’s air-conditioned section has grungy, old-coloured wooden furniture, the red couch pop-culture area and a Rajanikanth image with a guitar in the DJ console. Outside, lush green and turquoise walls and a bar invite everyone to let loose. Only starter served here from the Mean Ass Chicken Chilli to Vada Pao (yes, seriously - and Rs. 75 only), Aloo Chaat and Quesadillas (all under Rs. 200) along with VFM drinks like mojitos, Long Island Iced Teas, Caprioska, shots, and shooters (around Rs. 200) - they have them all! Wine by glass and bottle too.
