China arrived in Andheri (via Bangalore) three years ago! And now opens on the third floor of a Goregaon mall. It comes in the form of a high-gloss, gargantuan, sprawling, brightly lit, wooden-floored restaurant. Aromas of China is packed to the seams with shrieking kids and loud English music raising the decibel levels. Bustling and popular. The extensive menu offers many a surprise, though quite a lot of the menu sits squarely on the Indo- China border (spicy Chicken Lat Mai, Veg Dim Sum with Peas, robustly spiced and overcooked veggies). Do try the succulent Peking Duck with Plum Sauce. The unerringly cooked Mushroom Tofu and the lustily rendered Lamb in Pepper Sauce come out as clear winners. A hard crust mars the Chocolate Spring Roll, while the Crispy Fried Bun with Custard is a medley of soft squishy textures to be enjoyed only by the initiated. Steamboat buffs, please note that this is served here also with a choice of broth. Extremely good price points and a well-stocked bar. P.S. Check out their Lunch Buffets (Mon-Fri: Rs494, Sat-Sun: Rs650, which include a glass of wine, beer or beverage of your choice. They have a "Panch ka Dum" scheme: for groups of five or multiples of five, only four people are charged).

Aromas of China is an ideal place for a family celebration. I was invited to a friends anniversary lunch party, we were seated in one of their many private dining chambers. Lunch was buffet and was served to us in the private chamber by waiters. The food and service was top class!! Cant wait to visit this place again!
