On the menu today: two delicious discoveries thanks to three fabulous friends. I love the suburbs and invariably find them packed with super surprises. In Versova, I lunch with the founder-director of a 24-hour food channel, who is now all set to open a Pan Asian cafe and so amongst other things multi-talented Sanjeev Kapoor has been perfecting the fine art of dimsum. His wife Alyona (whose mother is an outstanding cook, and sister, a chef) and their lovely daughters Rachita and Kriti are equally passionate about food. "I am the face," says Sanjeev, as we nibble the afternoon away "but my wife is the backbone of my work."
A must visit. Moderately priced, delicate dimsum and homestyle Cantonese are enough reasons to get me eating in Versova's new restaurant regularly. Add to that a charming, cozy eatery and a talented young chefowner Tenzin Kalden and you have a winner. Having perfected her Chinese cooking at the Taj's Golden Dragon and then a Thai restaurant abroad, Tenzin and her husband Lalit Bhatnagar serve up moist dimsums. "And more" includes soups, wok-tossed dishes, rice, noodles and satays.
Go for the dimsum. Steaming hot in cane baskets: soft and moist Chicken Kothe, Fish Suimai, Prawns Suimai, where the thin skin of the dimsum clasps the tender and flavourful meat in a moist embrace. The veg dimsum platter has just the perfect crunch and bite of veggies. Predictable accompaniments of soya sauce, garlic-chilli sauce, schezwan sauce, mustard sauce are provided. Though perfectly happy to make a meal of dimsum, we check out the Chicken Dry Red Chilli stirfried to perfection and the salted Crispy Corn with Wild Pepper. Veg Burnt Garlic Fried Rice is humdrum as is the Veg Moon Faan Rice, but the Chicken in Broccoli Oyster Sauce and Chicken in the tangy hot garlic sauce more than makes up for that. The oversauced Chicken Chilli Garlic Noodles are avoidable. Chocolate Dimsum makes for an unusual sweet finale. It's the dimsums (average price of a dimsum basket Rs 150.) which will bring us back. Soon.

Great and cheap place for Thai, Tibetan food and I truly like their effort to bring the best of herbs and ingredients to prepare the food. Seafood, Dim Sums and Chilli Garlic Noodles of this place is quite a hit among my friends and it’s always good to come here with one or two company. Chocolate dimsums are unique and its scrumptious.

The dimsums served here are good. Please do not compare these dimsums with the ones that you get with the street hawkers. Dimsum and more serves authentic Chinese food which are tasty and wholesome.
