I am led to this brand new, casual American diner in Andheri by my foodie readers (who I meet for the first time). Banker Simran Sareen (bakes brilliantly) and Neeraj Ved makes time as does Kiran (from their ad agency and research work, respectively). Walk up to this colourful, themed restaurant. Cheery, bright themed ambience of blondewood floor, exposed brick wall dotted with large plasma screens, hats, lassos and musical instruments complete the ambience. Shakira rocks on the large plasma screens and a grandfather clock chimes on the half hour. The large menu zig zags. It’s the thin crust pizza with generous toppings which comes out tops, as does the okayish barbeque sizzler. Sweet chutney on Mozarella fingers, gloopy crespelles, unauthentic Bekti Peri Peri (made in a white sauce) disappoint. Oversweet and avoidable desserts (Italian Cassata, Philadelphia Cheesecake). Well-priced (meal for two Rs. 800), open through the day and a well-stocked bar are this new entrants plus points. As is the cheery themed decor and the evening gigs and live music here. It is a place that will bring guests back (not so much for a meal) but drinks and a night out of fun.
