It,s the best Maharashtrian restaurant certified by ISO and MTDC (first in Mumbai). Asia's Miele Guide and Times Food Guide enthusiastically concur. Royal Maharashtrian fare set amidst Sanskrit etchings on a mirrored wall, Paithani sari and Warli paintings... you get all this with a soulful, homely feel in the Mahim restaurant. Diva Maharastracha has also opened in Andheri now. Sudeep Awchat, the 24-year-old son of the colourful owner-couple (Deepa and Suhas Awchat) sets up here. Gone is the thematic cute ambience (which I prefer), and all three restaurants (Diva Maharashtracha, Goa Portuguesa and Culture Curry) are housed together in a contemporary building and also have a common composite menu. Twenty-nine communities and various regions inspire the mesmerizing menu that doubles as a history lesson on the state’s diversity. The steamed Modak (plump with peas or keema; a variation of Puneri Brahmin food), delicate Puneri Bharli Wangi, and the vigorous, robust and fiery Kolhapuri meaty dishes (Tambda Rassa, Prawns Lonache) certify that “Maharashtra is heaven“ as the walls trumpet. A Power Lunch Thali served in Marathi style is an enlightening cultural culinary experience. In spite of the slow (but courteous) service, occasionally over-spiced dishes, modest hike in prices, and packed-to-the-seams conditions, I’d definitely return for my favourites - divine flaky Puran Poli and the mild Pandhara (white) Rassa. Nobody serves Maharashtra the way our colourful and passionate, owner-couple does. With gusto!rn

Diva Maharashtracha turned out to be an amazing venue for my birthday celebration. I had to treat my friends at my birthday and we were looking for a nice place where ambience is good for celebration and food is simply great. And Diva Maharashtracha became the venue with all these things. We eight friends loved chicken kolhapuri, fish fingers and chicken 65. I would recommended Andheri Diva Maharashtracha to all non veg lovers in the city who wants to have good and cheerful time.
