”Let the magic begin”, announces a board on an Andheri building's dusty side lane. You have to pass wash basins, kitsch, posters and there, under dangling ping pong balls of light, an interesting ceiling made of egg trays (yes, egg trays!) and a space with yellow-and-red wooden chairs (reminiscent of nursery school days) every little thing they cook (well, almost) is magic. Robust, lusty flavours leap from the generous portions of the roundly spiced Punjabi fare, be it the Laal Mutton or the succulent Mint Nimbu Chicken (my favourite). Kebabs are particularly good and roundly spiced (try Bhatti ka Murgh, Burrah Kebab). Chicken Kebab, Adraki Aloo Gobhi, Kathal Subzi and Nimbu Kadhi add variety. However, the Coconut Fish Tikka is too creamy and the Butter Garlic Prawns remind us not to stray from the bold Indian flavours offered on the menu (the bland, creamy safed haathi of chicken and capsicum is a rare and tasty exception to this rule). Sizzlers, Moroccan Grilled Chicken and Basilica Chicken on the menu too. Creamy Phirni and crisp Jalebi are wonderful ways to end the wallet-friendly evening. Jain-friendly fare here too. Andheri ka jadoo!rnP.S. Ask for their lunch discounts — rates vary every month (40% was available at the time of my visit). During Happy Hours (3pm to 8pm) if you buy one cocktail, they offer one on the house.rnP.S. Do try the Lunch Buffet at Masala Mantar, Rs. 259+ taxes on weekdays; Rs. 399+ taxes on weekends.rnNote: They have two sections here. Some Like It Hot offers firewood oven pizzas and a DJ (8pm onwards) who spins retro (no Bollywood). The menu here is Continental — pastas, sizzlers, pizzas, burgers, mini meals, pastries and brownies

The place has a very unique and pleasant name to attract any foodie. I visited the place to try out the
dishes. The place is a small but cozy one, which I liked. Like the name suggests, the food here has spicy
flavours which I relished a lot. The menu has various delights and the best part is that the food is very
reasonable.

Awesome Food. I went with my family and Friends at Masala Mantar. A delight for non-vegetarians. They serve sufficient quantities of food as well.
