As long as you don't get misled by the name (Soul) of this new restaurant at the Swedish design hotel Svenska and don't go looking for Swedish cuisine you'll be happy with the Indian fare here. In the cooler months you'll also enjoy the alfresco terrace dining on the 8th floor of the hotel as you devour Andheri's skyline. Must start with the house special of the Guava 'n' Vodka-based Pataka Mary. Standard fare of Burrah Kebab, Tandoor Chicken and well-marinated creamy Murgh Malai Kebabs, as also the Tandoori Aloo and Paneer Tikka. While the Murgh Khurchan is a bit too tangy, the classic buttery Black Dal makes up for it as do the crisp naans.

I visited Soul last Sunday to celebrate my wedding anniversary, and I must say, my husband couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate the night. The view at the rooftop restaurant is breathtaking, and the delicate lights that decorate it add to the charm. A gentle light breeze relaxes you while you sip into their signature cocktails and enjoy the works of the talented bartender. We ordered their signature Sharbai Narial and Chatka Mary cocktails, along with the unlimited kebab platter. My husband later revealed to me that he had booked the table through a website his colleague recommended urbanrestro and he even received a handsome discount through them. Seems like we are gonna make it a weekly affair, or rather, a weekend-ly affair!
