As this book goes to press, Soda pops open in Malad. It's been bubbling in Andheri ever since it opened four years ago with a Continental coffee-shop kind of menu (pastas, pizzas, starters, sizzlers, sandwiches), happiest hours (noon to 8pm daily; 50 per cent off domestic and imported drinks), classic rock 'n' roll (thankfully NO Bollywood), and a live DJ daily from 8pm onwards. Soda's the friendly, neighbourhood pub crammed with regulars who come, most of all, for the music. Yet, they strive to offer food that deviates from the usual pub standards - they make their own sauces (for pizzas and pastas) and even offer daily specials. Patrons can customize their own pizzas (most popular menu item). Head here on weekends for Commercial Nights and on Wednesdays for Ladies Nights (request night for ladies). It is a hotch potch situation inside this place, I mean food, music, snacks and a huge youth crowd inside well at times it’s a lot more to take. Anyways pastas are good and the sauce tastes very different and very delicious.
