Firangi Paani or FP, as its regulars call it, has a British pub feel... rich interiors, deep-pile carpets, leather-upholstered chairs with a rich, dark polish, a sumptuous fabric and mirror panelling, a flashy mural and a dance floor complete the décor. You can boogie the night away and knock down an Electric Lemonade while the DJ brings the house down everyday (11pm to 1am; except Sundays). This place is over the top but in a good way. They have everything right from cigars, a well-stocked bar, cocktails (Caipiroska, Tom Collins, Bloody Mary) and mocktails (Tropicano Oasis, Summer Cyclist). More of a multi-cuisine restaurant, than a night place, its bar and dance floor does get packed over the weekends. A good à la carte menu with a hearty mix of Mexican, Italian, sandwiches, pizzas and pastas and even the good ol’ British Fish ‘n’ Chips. Platters (Veg, Non-veg and Seafood `500 onwards) too. Sizzlers are the speciality here... Kung Pao Chicken, Jack Daniel’s Double Barrel Chicken and Steak Combo, Prawn Shashlik, Flaming Veggies with dumplings and Crisp Rolls. This place is over the top but in a good way.

PS: South Mumbaikars, please note, this Firangi Paani is not even remotely related to Frangipani, though both are hugely popular in their own way.

HAPPY HOURS: 6 pm to 10pm (Buy one, get one free on Indian and some imported liquor)

SPECIAL NIGHTS: DJ Nights (Fridays & Saturdays), Ladies’ Nights (Mondays and Wednesdays)

Buzz: 4/5|Service: 4/5 | Décor: 2.5/5

With kegs turned into tables, leather upholstered chairs, polished wood everywhere, imported antiques, gleaming brass rails, a well crafted ship right in the middle of the bar and a fireplace, Firangi Paani apes the quintessential English pub experience. A multi-cuisine above-average Sunday Buffet (`595) offers selections from Chinese, Indian and European fare. Don’t forget the good ol’ British Fish ‘n’ Chips! Sandwiches, soups, pizzas, pastas and sizzlers are all flavoursome. Foot-thumping music fills the vibrant space as the 50-foot-long stained glass bar that even stocks cigars, whips up signature and Polynesian cocktails. Groove to the retro mood (DJ nights) and bring the house down as you sing along on karaoke nights!

goo and fine With bars and restaurants competing for the attention of eight million people, eating and drinking in London can be as much a feast for the eyes as for the stomach. Pop in for a drink at Sketch and take a tinkle in the pod-shaped toilets - complete with the sound of birdsong, or even a round of applause. A surreal 1930s vibe can be found at Bob Bob Ricard in Soho, while top chef Marcus Wareings restaurant, The Gilbert Scott, inside the magnificently gothic St Pancras Renassiance Hotel, throws you straight back to the Victorian era.

Tips: Offers free Wi-Fi
