Can one evening spent with two strangers be such exuberant fun? Two readers, who I'd never met before but who'd emailed me, on my invitation joined me on my food-adventures. And I loved every single moment with them. The bright and helpful Yajur Taxali is a true blue Punjabi, passionate about food and travel. A mechanical engineer by qualification, he works with an educational organisation. The charming and eversmiling Eesha Singh is a communications graduate and works in advertising. We discovered a VFM Punjabi eatery and a three-levelled Nonsense" too. Come nibble the night away with us...
Balle balle. It's a find. Who'd ever imagine that this intriguingly-named new eatery would serve authentic Punjabi and North Indian food. Walk past the two almond trees (therefore the name) into the charming small three-sectioned 76-seater eatery, with an open air, lantern-lit terrace.
The home spun quality of the food and the warmth of the service makes it a memorable experience. No dish costs more than Rs 200 and each one is infused with authentic masalas. Tushar Gupta brings his passion for cooking (since the age of six) and experience in five star hotels to the table. Homesick Punjabis will do a bhangra on tasting the unusual rotis (Mirch roti, gobi roti, mooli roti) flavoursomely stuffed and well made. Rich and pungent Mutton Bhuna, traditional Lasooni Chicken, Achari Paneer are recommended. Home-style staple of Rajma Chawal is tasty though not the best. The Vadi Wala Chawal disappoint as does the Phirni. But the Moong Dal Halwa is sinfully rich and well made."

After a long time in the city I had amazing Rajma Chawal and Mirchi Roti here at Almond Flower. The high light of this restaurant was the terrace setting and eye catching lantern after good Punjabi food. Mutton Bhuna, Achari Paneer with Gobi Paratha ultimate dishes that tastes just perfect. Almond Flower is my home coming in terms of food.

All time favourite place for punjabi food. During last visit we enjoyed sarson da saag with makki ki roti at their open air terrace. Banno Kebab and Chicken kalimirch tikka were tender and succulent as always. Thank you guys for the amazing food and not to miss they have started serving drinks as well!!! Cheers!!!
