It's better than ever. It's authentic Chinese menu has now added on global flavours. The Times Food Award winner, India's first authentic Schezwan restaurant (opened in 1973) hums in a lighter, brighter and totally different avatar. A glassed-off open kitchen is the focal point here. A golden dragon placed over a soothing water body, rice paper, etched glass work and a large glass door welcomes you in. As the book goes to press, I pop in here for a recheck and find that Chef Shi Xi Ling and Chef Moitra continue to work their wok magic under grand corporate chef Hemant Oberoi. There is a sureness of grasp in the subtle and light flavours that infuse the recently introduced dishes. The Jasmine Tea-smoked Aubergine and Tofu is a mastepiece of texture and flavour and a must try. The recently introduced designer dim sum dazzle, be it the Tenderloin Foie Gras Jiaozi, or the transparent Prawn Har Gaw with Truffle Sauce. Beijing Duck, Steamed Basa with Pickled Chilli and surprisingly even the Pesto Fish is worth trying. From the old favourites do go for the Golden-fried Prawns, fried to perfection and the crisp Salt 'n' Pepper Water Chestnuts, Broccoli with Pine Nut, Konjee Crispy Lamb, and Mapo Tofu. As flavoursome and masterful as ever. Some of the dishes fall wide off the mark and the Mushroom 'n' Cheese Dim Sum is not one of my favourites nor is the Shanghai Soup Dumpling (served with a straw) and the Prawns with Baguette. Wind up with the interesting delicate and packed with flavour Green Apple Tiramisu, the Chocolate and Candied Ginger Dim Sum Flambe served with Orange Liqueur. A fitting finale to great meal (with prices to match). P.S. Choose from the various Executive Lunch Menus: Rs. 1,150 for soup and dim sum, Rs. 1,350 for soup, dim sum and main course, Rs. 1,650 for soup, dim sum, main course and dessert. Do check out the Tea Menu of a dozen rare teas.

I went here with a friend and expected some normal, rawish kind of chines food that is usually served. but thankfully I was amazed at the taste and even the price here. the decor is perfect as well. even broccoli tastes such nice here.

For Golden Dragon I would say, the service is fantastic, the ambiance excellent, the food is great. Being the Taj, it is a little heftier on the wallet than a local hole-in-the-wall, but if you are looking for premium Chinese, this is the way to go.

I had been longing to have Chinese food when a friend of my suggested this restaurant. The ambience is a quiet one which gives a soothing and refreshing feeling. For the starters we ordered roast chicken bar-be-que style and honey glazed chicken wings black pepper. I liked the 2 items and then went on to order chicken pan fried noodles and chicken chilly garlic fried rice. For the dessert we had chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. it was a wonderful treat for me as I loved the flavours. I will surely visit the place again.
