The Sea Lounge is where I love to go, sit by the window, take in the gleaming seascape of Apollo Bunder and nurse a cup of heady coffee. Also, love the sense of history here. It used to be The Moorish Room, when Paul Nijinsky of the Royal Petrograd Opera danced here. The newspaper and magazine racks stood exactly where they do now. It’s great to browse through newspapers in this calm oasis in a world gone mad! The world’s most relaxed coffee shop continues to serve the old favourites of Bhel Puri, Sev Puri, Café Viennoise, Toasties and high tea. Only, the Paani Puri is now innovatively served in shot glasses. Viennoise Frozen Coffee Ice Cream though served in a different glass, is as good as ever. The rest of the food does not match up, be it the the Fish ’n’ Chips, 4 Cheese Pizza, pastas, Breast of Chicken or Stir-fried Prawns. Stick to the Club Sandwiches, the teas and coffees. P.S. As the book goes to press, I pop in here for a quick check-out. The High Tea Buffet (4pm to 7pm) for Rs.1,125 offers amazing value (sweets, savouries, chaats and hot beverages.) There’s a Breakfast Buffet (7am to 10.30am) for Rs.1,150 as well.

Few days back I came here for a meeting and happen to check in this cafe.
Decor & Ambiance:
Needless to say about the ambiance at Taj, it is definitely one of the best looking restaurants. A very classy tea lounge with squishy sofas, simple glass tables, and upholstered chairs are scattered across a plush carpet, patterned in wavelike swirls; all in warm greens and blues. The backdrop is a technicolor view of the magnificent Gateway of India, the blue ocean, and a harbor full of bobbing sailboats.
Menu Exclusives:
Infact the menu is not elaborate as expected but the food is tasty. For a Connoisseur's delight check out the selection of Bombay snacks like Dahi Batata puri. Don't miss the Viennoise coffee ice cream and Brioche Butter Pudding. Special mention to the team for the excellent desserts.

Needless to question about the cost, they are too expensive. An ideal cost for two would be in the range of Rs. 2000

Sea Lounge actually takes away the burdens of my daily life and relaxes me completely. Over looking the sea just have a cup of coffee or just indulge in bhal puri, sev puri, pastas or anything else to let the stress go.
Viennoise Frozen Coffee Ice Cream is my favorite Ice cream here and a complete antidepressant. Breast of Chicken and Stir-fried Prawns is also quite a delicacy.
Sea Lounge for is less a restaurant and more a place to pamper myself with good food and good view.
