I return again and again to the Potnis family's Highway Gomantak in Bandra East (it was my find 22 years ago when it had just opened in a corrugated tin-roofed shack). And now, it's bigger than before but still retains its no-frills look and prices. Still not air-conditioned and it still has brown fans whirring overhead. Go for the Fish Fry, Mutton Sukhe Thali, Gomantak Veggies and the plump Bombils - crisp and hot on the outside and wobbly and yummy on the inside. You can look forward to basic VFM fare: 32 varieties of thalis (Rs.130-250) and some wholesome seafood made to the owner's family recipes... Kalwa (Oysters), Kolambi (Prawns), Teesrya (Clams), Rawas, Pomfret, Mandeli (Fried Goldfish), Mori (Shark) and Kurlya (Crab). They even have a "vegetarian fish" (it lives only on veggies) called Murdushi. Eight varieties of fish curries, Masala Stuffed Pomfret, Fried Goa Mussels and Shenane… they serve it all. They have also added Green Chicken Pulao and a Fish Platter.

The food is just ok, would be any day better if the same was served hot and fresh.
It is shocking that when this feedback was shared with the owner's son, he suggested that this is how it would be served, he literally meant, eat it or get lost. we have others customers too who don't mind cold food.
The poor father was wondering as to what would happen to the goodwill he had build over the years if this is how his children managed customer expectation and feedback.

I went over to this place along with my friends last week and this place almost has an ethanic feel to it. This place is for all seafood lovers. Kalwa ,Kolambi, Teesrya, Rawas, Pomfret tastes good. Though service is not very quick.
