It's a jungle out there, but this Bandra hangout is dancing to the beat of its own drum. Bonobo (Bar.Love.Food.), named after an endangered ape living in the heart of the Congo, is popular and packed. Soft lighting, an outdoor terrace with Bandra's high-rises for a backdrop, a funky bar and a spanking new food and drinks menu seem to be reeling in suburbites by the dozens. Try the Wild Mushroom & Truffled Mascarpone Risotto or Bhavnagri Chile Rellenos. Wash it down with a Blood Orange Margarita. Pair Mezze Platters, Crostini, Teriyaki Chicken, Skewers and Jalapeño Cheddar Poppers (finger foods) with a pitcher of beer or a cheeky Chardonnay. On every second Friday of the month, a band called The Wobbles plays music on a turntable, albeit with an electronic twist. So get into the groove and do the funky monkey!

If you feel like escaping the frenetic pace of Mumbai, then Bonobo is the suitable place for you.
2. AMBIANCE & DECOR:
Upon entering the Bonobo, it's quite easy to imagine yourself away from Mumbai, in a far off tropical location. Bonobo is divided into 2 areas -- an alfresco dining area, and an enclosed air conditioned lounge area where a DJ spins tunes. The decor, in tones of beige, brown and green, successfully creates a jungle ambiance without being tacky.
3. FOOD & BEVERAGES:
If you are a cocktail lover, then you'll love Bonobo. You can tell that Bonobo is serious about its cocktails loaded with luscious cocktail ingredients, that lines the bar. Those who are feeling inspired can apparently help themselves to the ingredients, and craft their own cocktails. Enjoy relaxing with a cocktail, without any pretenses, and just be yourself.
Started off with a Cosmopolitan, followed by the more adventurous Expresso Martini, made from freshly brewed expresso coffee, vanilla vodka, and Irish cream. Indeed, it was the perfect combo for me.
In Food, I ordered the bell pepper and zucchini lasagna. Served promptly, it was unexpectedly tasty and well cooked, with just the right texture and flavor. A tantalizing variety of deserts is also available.

Bonobo used to be the perfect destination for a Saturday night. Classy crowd, good location, and good conversaton. But hasn?t this place shut down?

We were in Bandra and wanted to enjoy the occassion with good food. This place is completely overrated. we were indeed happy to find a wide range of cocktails on the menu but the food here was average tasting. If you are planning to come here then expect
