Palatial Oriental splendour awaits in Bandra — through decor, architecture and, of course, the lavish buffet of steamed, stir-fried, golden-fried, and wok-tossed dishes. Even though I hate buffets, I am recommending a trip to this 7,500sq ft, 320-seater, sprawling labour of love, divided into two huge rooms. Above: a triple-height ceiling; to the side: gurgling water bodies and artificial lotus flowers; and all around: pagodas and long well-lit buffet counters (Lunch: Rs. 720, from Monday-Saturday, and Rs. 1,050 on Sunday; Dinner: Monday-Thursday at Rs. 950 and Friday-Sunday, Rs. 1,050). Over 200 dishes - rice, noodles, dim sum, sashimi, buns, and even salads! Special order items they'll bring to your table on request. Impressive variety. A menu that never changes. Skip thick cuts of Japanese sashimi, the indelicately prepared sushi, the patchy dishes (Paneer Stir-Fry), and the desserts. Many dishes are above average like the masterly Shiitake Mushroom and Spring Onion Pancake. For all that is offered, the prices are surprisingly affordable. We'd expect nothing less from China Gate. P.S. Ask about their party hall for special occasions (capacity — 70 people; 35 people minimum).

These guys should should declare, 'If you eat each and every preparation on our menu, your meal is on the house." I have never seen such an extensive menu with such a variety not only in seafood but also in white and red meat. And equal no. of dishes for vegetarian people.
If you are okay getting up every now and then to treat your pallet we n number of amazingly tasty preparations, you won't get any better place than this one.
You enter the restaurant and you gonna feel that you have entered some place leaving all you worries back there in the elevator itself and you are not enjoy each and every moment you will spend here.
They do not have printed menu of the day. Because if they do, you will take at least 15 minutes to go through it. Best way, go to each counter and have a look at each dish. I suggest, start from cold salad and sushi counter. You don't know how to select a sushi? No problem. Select the best looking sushi out of 15-20 lying there. All of them are awesome.
Done with salads and sushis? Collect as much as table no. clips from your table and go to appetizers counter. I am sure, those clips won't sufficient for you. so tell the order taker standing there what all you want. And everything will be served on your table. By that time you can enjoy soups and fresh cut fruits.
You are gonna love whatever is served on your table. The dumplings, fish, prawns, chicken wings and beef appetizer. Also don't forget to visit deep fried appetizers counter. These are not actually appetizers but almost filling course.
But there are still two more courses to go. Personally I wont strongly recommend so called main course which would include rice, noodles and 2-3 types of gravies and main courses.
Instead reserve your appetite and go to desserts counter. First thing to try is the mango-shake shots. I bet no one can drink just one.
There are also some cookies and cakes and pastries which all are worth trying. And to top it all 7-8 flavors of BR ice-cream. What else one would require for a complete meal?
This entire process would require at least 2 hours to complete and when you see your check you would really wonder is this it i am paying so such a wonderful experience?
Service: Very good
Ambiance: Excellent
Food: Speechless
I am sure when you are leaving this place you must be thinking, "abhi ghar nahi jaana..... plz koi yaha ek gaddi deto.. Yahi so jaate hai....."
I am craving to visit this place again as soon as possible and I am sure you will be on same lines once you been here.
