For a relaxing evening or business meeting, head for the spacious, carpeted and open-through-the-day lounge in the Atrium of the high-ceilinged, luxuriously opulent and gleaming lobby of Taj Land's End. Savio Rodrigues plays soothing jazz tunes on the piano (Mon-Sat: 5pm to 9pm) as hotel guests unwind. Sip on your wine or cocktail, munch on their superb snacks (including tapas), and experiment with their cutting-edge flavours and textures (I love the Blueberry and Balsamic Sorbet). Extensive selection in Single estate coffees (28) and teas (52), and smooth cognacs (made well) too! Pop in between 4pm and 7pm for the Charlie High Tea (Rs. 800; choose from 24 types of coffee and tea) or Champagne High Tea (Rs. 1,200). Munch on finger-sized sandwiches, cookies, scones, hot snacks (Indian and Continental) or enjoy cheesecakes, canopes and fruit cakes. They have an innovative menu - Ceaser Salad's a fusion with tandoori chicken nestling within, trio of mini burgers (chicken, vegetarian and tenderloin), an open-faced Smoked Salmon and a Sun-dried Tomato with Feta too. Tapas include spiced lamb skewers, Balinese Asian Frito Misto and the Great Indian Chaat Platter. Even a Smoked Cheese and Tomato Quesadilla - something for everyone. A great place to unwind and watch the world go by.
