Spreading canopies of trees stretch out to air-kiss the sky and charming stone steps connect layers of grassy terraces. It's a pity that the wait time is really long. Believe it or not, we are not only in the heart of Bandra but at the branch of a chain restaurant that has proven itself with a track record of consistency. It's a pity that the wait time is really long. Walk into the bustling branch of Candies at Learner's Academy on a weekend, and expect a 30-minute wait; busy evenings are the same (deliveries during peak hours can take an hour to reach you, but at least it cuts out the crowd). Huge Plasma screens playing tributes to the late Michael Jackson, or Cirque de Soleil acts keep people involved and entertained as they ponder over their selections from the over 250 choices (the menu is more extensive than the other two branches) of VFM Italian, Indian, European/Global or Chinese fare (Dragon Chicken disappoints, but Soft Chicken or Multigrain Tuna Sandwiches, Mutton Mince Rolls, Veg Puff, and Classic Roast Chicken are all recommended). Groups of schoolchildren, college students and families alike abound. Some scoop selections from the salad bar, as others sip the superb Cold Coffee. Charming wroughtiron furniture, hanging potted plants and wooden benches are all around. As you take your wobbly tray laden with treats on disposable plates and trot up the stairs, please note the mesmerizing mosaic patterns on the walls, including the recent Van Gogh Starry Night and Beatles themes, which are handcrafted by the talented owner, Mr Allan Pereira himself.
