Located in a leafy, winding Bandra lane, this restaurant in- a-bungalow has the relaxed air of the Friends living room. I compliment Matan Schabracq for introducing Mumbai to this "bread for the head" cafe. Cane furniture, plenty of books, newspapers, magazines, games et al. Plain, poppy seed and sesame seed authentic bagels (boiled and then baked) are served up as sandwiches in a short menu. Chocoholics, try the Nutella Bagel; veggies, the Hummus one. Freshly squeezed juices (try carrot or beetroot) too. Great Multi-grain Omelette Bagel and Smoked Salmon Bagel. Plenty of cream-cheese options(natural, chives, pesto). There is more than just bagels here; pastas, soups and much more find a home in this cosy house. Smoked Chicken and Veg Mediterranean Salad sell like hot cakes. The muffins are okayish but the large, crumbly, chewy brownie makes up for that. Good tea and coffees and no alcohol. And you, my pal, are welcome to wander in alone; in fact, your pet dog and cat are welcome too!

A perfect place to sit back and relax, the Bagel Shop is hub of entertainment. If I am free and in relaxing mood, I will definitely visit this place. it has a soothing ambiance where you can sit on a cane chair and read your favorite book for hours. For me a glass of carrot juice, my favorite book and Multi-grain Omelette Bagel is enough. The Bagel Shop is ideal for Chocoholics too. Go and try Nutella Bagel or any other, you will feel great.
