In the photograph, there's a barbecue chaas trolley and three delightful foodies. The yummy smoky chaas is made with drama and flair on this inventive trolley. Tiny TV screens on each table scroll menus in this narrow and small eatery.
The once iconic but then steadily sagging Gujarati thali 'Rajdhani' has been reborn as 'Revival'. It's now an Indian thali here... over my last three meals I had Agra Chaat, Bangalorean Makai Pisli, Bihari Rajma Nimona, Gujarati Bhindi. Rajasthani Aloo and Papad Chuda... and some South Indian, Sindhi and Maharashtrian dishes too. Most of it was tasty ("Thankfully made with less oil," remarked Nandini) and swiftly served, with the waiter explaining the source state. Oversweet Gujarati Kadhi, and "Unauthentic Sindhi Tikki," announced Vinod. We thought that more rare delicacies from each State needed.
Health and hygiene is taken care of. The dynamic Kamlesh Barot informs that they send food samples to the lab, (certificates are available for anyone who wants to see them. Ditto for the transfat oil used). A tasty, sugar-free custard for diabetics, super Organic khichdi and Jawar Rotis and yummy Aamras. I ask for the packed thali (for Rs 278 you get enough food for three). A frilly but interesting hype is ayurvedic benefits of chutneys, ditto for mukhwas and eating out of Kansa thali.
While Milan found this pan India thali, "Confusing and jarring," Indira and Nandini felt is was "A great USP." It's great for taking your out-oftown guests for a taste of India, complete with cramped, streets et al (Heritage tours can be conducted too). I love re-incarnations. They spell hope and a new life. And when they seamlessly deliver (for Rs 278 on weekdays and Rs 345 on Sundays), it's time to rejoice.

I went Revival on a friend’s birthday. The place is quite good with small TV screens on each table. On these TV’s you can easily scroll menus and select the food. We ordered for different thalis. Agra Chaat, Bangalorean Makai Pisli and Bihari Rajma Nimona were also the part of our menu. The place is very clean and looks hygienic. Working staff were also nice. They were all ready for the service and friendly in suggesting the options of the food.
