Adarsh is Chembur's cheap and cheerful watering hole with absolutely no-frills (tubelight and television, but no windows or air-conditioning). It's all about liquor at rock-bottom prices. The waiter we spoke to couldn't stop raving about the Fish Tawa Fry Green Masala, new to the menu. It can be made with surmai, pomfret or bangra and costs under '400. Plastic crockery, brown rexine upholstery and sunmica tabletops are all practical choices. That spirit reflects in the menu too with no imported alcohol but a fair variety in domestic. Pair with Masala Peanuts or papad, Chicken Satay, Prawns Koliwada, Crabs/Prawns in Butter Garlic or Fish Hariyali. Finish off with laughter and comraderie.
