Ever since it has opened, Churchgate's Samrat has been on the foodie map for South Mumbai vegetarians. Delicious Gujarati Thali (even a Jain version on request) served in cosy, air-conditioned comfort at this handsome, bi-level eatery. Farsaans, Fried Gowar, Satpuri Roti and Khichdi are hits. Gujarati specialities like silken Dal Dhokli, Khandvi Patra, Gatta nu Saag, sweet Gujarati Dal and Steamed Panki have many adoring fans. Beer too! Now for the prices — Lunch Thali (Mon-Sat: Rs.262; holidays: Rs.304); Dinner Thali (Rs.304). On all days, they have the grand Gujarati Special Thali (Rs.425, menu of your choice) and the Punjabi Thali (Rs.450 with unlimited sweets, but only for parties).

One of my family's favourite restaurant. This one's worth every penny you pay. Amazing variety of food especially the thali's are too good. Definately a must visit for all the foodie's.
