The buzz in this high-energy stand-alone bar of the Colaba restaurant has been ebbing somewhat. It has bagged “Wine Spe-ctator” awards and has blazed many a trail in the cocktail world. Step into Indigo to unwind with their Fresh-fruit Margaritas (they were introduced in Mumbai right here), grappas, cognacs and rare whiskies. The Sour Apple Martini tops the list here. Mojitos, Kiwi Margarita, Gooseberry Margarita and a magnificent wine list are the stars here. Stark walls, sandstone flooring, polished teak furniture, offset by brightly coloured surfaces and house music make up the ambience here. A wooden staircase against a blood-red wall leads you from the bustling bar (Fridays and Saturdays are busiest nights here) to the open-air terrace and into the cosy wooden-roofed lounge. Head to the Black Lounge located on the first floor if quiet and calm is your thing. Relax and nurse your single malt and order the finest wines as you munch on Fenugreek Chicken Tikka, Roasted Mushrooms and Feta Phyllo Wantons, Sundried Tomato and Jalapeño Phyllo Rolls. Or if you prefer, choose a cigar from their huge humidor.

The biggest advantage of Indigo is ambience, location, interior. It's absolutely romantic, quiet and clean. The food is good but very expensive as compared to other places and poor service.

This place according to me is one of the most romantic places in Mumbai(on a weekday that is.). With good decor, good food and courteous service, this place upgrades itself from a dinner to a dining experience. Its expensive….. but then who minds paying for "The Experience."
